Latest Sightings Launches Video Partnership Program

Apr 2 2015

Johannesburg, October, (, a wildlife social networking site with the highest YouTube following in South Africa, has announced the launch of a contributor channel.  Nadav Ossendryver, founder of Latest Sightings says, “As we are principally community driven, we have developed a contributor channel partnership in order to share in the wildlife success of footage published to the channel.” Gert de Koker, a visitor to the Kruger National Park was the first to revel in the monetary reward system for his wildlife video footage with an initial handover of R21 965.00 in August. However, to date he has received approximately R100 000.00 for his video submitted to Latest Sightings.

Gert de Koker says, “As a regular visitor to the Kruger National Park, I videographed footage in order to educate people regarding the danger associated with wild animals and the hanging out of car windows ( I never imagined it would do this well and that I would be rewarded”.

The video footage accepted from the community does not require technical skills and hence you don’t need to be a professional videographer to get involved. It’s the simple, non-professional but unusual clips that are doing well.

Gert de Koker says, “We visit the Kruger Park approximately 2 – 4 times per year, and have been part of the Latest Sightings ‘WhatsApp’ group for 2 years, a facility created in order to receive info of sightings as they happen in the park.”

When asked what Gert is going to do with his reward, he replies, “As a pensioner I would love to treat my wife with a surprise visit to one of the private lodges in Sabi-Sabi. And thanks to the Latest Sightings Contributor Channel, it has made this dream possible”.
